Learning Abroad

Study, work, internships, or volunteer experiences abroad can greatly enrich a major or minor in linguistics. Many students report that it is the highlight of their college career. We urge you to take advantage of one or more of the hundreds of opportunities available worldwide.

Find general learning abroad information, including programs available, advising, financial aid and scholarships, policies and procedures, and application materials at the Learning Abroad Center.

For information specifically on learning abroad for linguistics majors and minors see the Study Abroad Major Advising Sheet (this links to the SAMAS page not the PDF).

Early planning and systematic consultation with advisers in the Learning Abroad Center and the department is key to assuring you:

  • Find the right program for you
  • Meet application or scholarship deadlines
  • Are able to apply appropriate courses taken abroad to your major/minor and/or Liberal Education requirements
